Easy Homemade Marinara sauce

Easy Homemade Marinara sauce

This Easy Homemade Marinara Sauce is so simple and yummy. Whenever I make some, I always do a double batch.  You can keep it in the refrigerator up to 4-5 days.

Perfect to serve over pasta with a some parmesan cheese or add to baked pasta dishes such as Giant shell pasta filled with Ricotta and Spinach or use it as a pizza sauce. That’s why I usually make a double batch, because this sauce can be used for so many different dishes.

If you can find delicious fresh tomatoes, feel free to use them. However, they’re not always available year-round. Personally, I prefer making my Homemade Marinara Sauce with canned crushed tomatoes.

Easy Homemade Marinara sauce

This Marinara Sauce is as simple as it can be. You just add canned crushed tomatoes, onion and fresh basil leaves in a blender and press the button. And after that pour it into a medium sized pot. Add the remaining ingredients and let it simmer for 30 minutes. And here’s a little secret…..After 30 minutes take the pot off the stove and add 1 tbsp butter to the sauce. The butter will take this Marinara Sauce to another level. And now you’ll have a creamy yummy Marinara Sauce.
