Let’s make a taco evening with this crazy delicious homemade taco seasoning. Finally I found the perfect combination of spices. It’s so much better than store-bought.
By creating your own taco seasoning at home, you can control which ingredients are included in it. You can make it as hot or mild as you like. The best part is that this homemade taco seasoning mix only takes a few minutes to make and you probably have all the ingredients you need at home! It is way better than the store bought packages and I know that your family will love it too. Two tablespoons of this taco seasoning is equivalent to 1 packet of store-bought taco seasoning. The perfect amount of spices come together in this homemade taco seasoning and you will never buy taco seasoning from the store again!
This taco seasoning works for ground beef and ground chicken. It’s also good for giving other dishes a little taco flavour like minced meat loaf, meatballs etc. It can be added to almost anything you’d like. Use it in your ground beef pie and make it a delicious taco pie.
This recipe is enough for many rounds of taco mince!
In this recipe, I use cornstarch to make the taco mince more creamy, but it’s optional.
I really recommend you to use ancho chili powder (poblanos). But if you can’t find it, it’s ok. You can replace it with more smoked paprika powder.
How to make it
Mix all the ingredients in a jar, put the cap on and give it a shake. And that’s it! Now give it a try! . Store it in a dark place.
How to use it
Brown 500 gram (1 pound) ground meat over medium heat until no pink remains. Then add two tablespoons of taco seasoning. Mix the seasoning into the minced meat while stirring . Add 100 ml (1/2 Cup) water and let it simmer for a few minutes until until the sauce/water thickens.
Now your taco mince is ready to be served.
