Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Butter (8.8 oz) at room temperature
  • 210 g Sugar ( 1 cup) white sugar
  • 110 g Brown sugar (½ cup)
  • 5 Eggs
  • 114 ml Sour milk (½ cup)
  • 500 g Self-rising flour (3 cups + 2 tbsp)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla sugar powder or Vanilla extract
  • 3 Apples
  • 3 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Cardamom ground
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg ground
  • 100 g Raisin
  • 50 g Almonds sliced
  • 75 g Pecan nut or Walnuts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 185°C (365° F)
  • Peel and cut the apples in small pieces and put them in a bowl. Add the spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom), nuts and raisins and mix it together.

  • In another bowl beat butter and sugar until fluffy.

  • Add one egg at a time into the mixture, stirring well.

  • Add sour milk and then flour. Finally, add the vanilla extract.
  • Mix the spiced apple,nut and raisins mixture with the batter.
  • Pour the mixture into a large 28 x 38 cm ( 11 x 14,5 in ) cake pan lined with non-stick baking paper.

  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool and finally dust with some powdered sugar.
